I will no longer be making chairs
Albert Einstein declared once that "Time was an illusion". He went on to state that it was, however, a VERY PERSISTENT illusion.
Thus it is that I find myself stuck in said 'persistent' illusion. I have lived a good life, having helped thousands of folks in myriad ways, the bulk of which were helping them to create beautiful rocking chairs for their family, friends and to sell in order to better care for their family.

A long time ago I graduated with a degree in biology/chemistry, but never worked for a second as a biologist, After graduation I went directly into electrical engineering, eventually becoming the manager of electrical engineering for Universal Dynamics in Woodbridge VA, a company that made equipment for the plastics industry.

Looking around at where I sit at this moment in time, I find myself to be 78 years old. Which, in my opinion is fine, BUT I do have some health issues that impede my continuing as a rocking chair maker: 1. I have prostate cancer, which is under control and not an issue for me. But, now-days, when I am in my shop I will find myself falling two or three times a week. I have always been a graceful 'faller' but falling in a woodshop is decidedly NOT a good thing to be doing. THUS, I will limit my chair making significantly going forward.
For starters, I will no longer be making my much loved StoryTime Rocking Chair. I will cancel most existing orders and will not be accepting any new. I will, going forward be making ONLY my regular rockers and am not sure how long I will continue making these.
I wish I had better news, but as my buddy Albert said, "Time is a VERY PERSISTENT illusion!

Hot off the press! a chair for a hero of the ages!
This chair will accommodate a hero from 6 feet six inches to six feet 10" tall! with a weight from 200 to 350+ in exquisite comfort This chair can grace your lovely home for 7,000 dollars. After the first of the year the price will be increased to 10,000.
This is a sampling of chairs I have made over the last 30 years.
Here you can see a few of the chairs I have made since 1993. Cherry, walnut and curly maple are the woods I use most often, however, I love to use English walnut when I can find it (at a reasonable price).
Colin Eden-Eadon, editor of Britain's premiere woodworking magazine, "Furniture & Cabinet Making" had this to say after sitting in one of my rocking chairs.
"This is the most comfortable wooden chair I have ever sat in!"
Virtually every person who has had an opportunity to sit in one of my rocking chairs agrees enthusiastically!
